Lara is 2-3 years old; she looks like a German Shepherd mix but is much smaller. She has a beautiful thick rusty red coloured coat, stunning eyes and just look at those ears! She was originally found as a stray who was pregnant, a lovely family took her in and cared for her and her pups.
Her UK foster mum says….
Lara is a real sweetie; she is just lovely and has settled well and is a laid-back girl in many respects, but she does barks at the gate, and barks at strangers coming into her house.
She is a chewer (with expensive tastes) so we took her to the garden centre when it was quiet to choose some toys, she really was as good as gold, she didn’t bark at anyone, really good on the lead, was shy when the checkout lady tried to talk to her but was polite!
She has a puppyish playful side and enjoys her treats. She mouths like a puppy and ‘nips’ when she wants you to play with her so she wouldn’t be great with young children.
She does not know her name or have any sort of recall, so we’ve been practising in the garden and she is learning well.
She is clean in the house, we’ve kept her sleeping in the kitchen as she was drawn to there when she first came, and she settles without any fuss at night. She is fine being left just with one of the other dogs if we are popping out to the shops.
She will chase a cat that runs but ignores a confident one.
Her ideal home would be with experienced dog owners who are around a lot of the day, who live in a quiet home and surroundings, who can work on building her confidence and continue with her training.
We feel that Lara would like a young chilled companion male dog or be an only dog where she gets all the attention, we know she will thrive with lots of attention and security.
Lara is spayed.
