Jacob was found with his 4 siblings sleeping on a olive grove net by a kind Greek man harvesting his olives. The man who found them was trying to find help for 24 hours and all the help he got was to be given a phone number of one of our volunteers. The poor puppies had already been out in bad storms for 24 hours but, as soon as we were made aware of them, one of our team was mobilised within 10 minutes. Sadly it was a cold, dark, wet night and only 3 were there when our volunteer met the Greek man. We did keep going back over the next few days to try and find the other 2 but, sadly, we never did.
Jacob and his siblings came down with parvo just a few days later so we fear the other 2 puppies we couldn’t find also died from parvo. Jacob is the only survivor of his litter as, devastatingly, parvo took the lives of his sister Ebby and brother Marley.
Jacob was born approximately 15.10.20 and looks to be a Labrador mix, although of course we can never be sure as we do not know their parents. We anticipate he will grow to be medium/large in size. Currently at 6 months he weighs 22kg.
Jacob is all black apart from a few little white hairs under his chin. He is a very confident and clever boy who just wants to be everyone’s friend. Even when he is at the vets he is wagging his tail and giving the vet kisses. He gets on with all the adult dogs, other puppies and cats too. He is extremely intelligent as he mastered sit and to give paw within 10 minutes ! He is a chilled-out boy and walks well on the lead.
Jacob has finished his vaccinations and will be ready to travel to his new home.
