Welcome to Healing Paws Animal Rescue, where we are dedicated to transforming the lives of neglected, abused, and abandoned animals on the beautiful Greek Island of Zakynthos (Zante). Our mission is simple yet powerful: to provide these vulnerable animals with the highest standard of care and to ensure they find the loving forever homes they deserve.
Our Commitment to Saving Lives and How You can Help
At Healing Paws Animal Rescue, we believe that every animal deserves a chance at a happy and healthy life, regardless of their past circumstances. We are driven by our passion for animal welfare and work to save and offer second chances to animals in need.
Since our founding in 2011 we have rescued and rehabilitated over 2000 dogs. We have seen these animals settle and thrive in new and loving homes.
Our focus is dogs, but we aim to rescue and support any animals needing our help if we possibly can!
Donate to Support Us
One of the best ways to support us is through a financial donation. Your contributions directly help us to cover the cost of food, vet care, shelter and other essential needs for our dogs.Even a small donation (or a small regular amount) can make a huge difference to the life of an animal waiting for their second chance.
Adopt a Forever Friend
Are you looking to add a new member to your family? By adopting one of our dogs, you’re not just giving them a home, you’re giving them a future filled with love and security. We always have many dogs waiting for their forever home, each with their own unique story and personality. Our wonderful Adoption Team will guide you through the whole process, from making sure that your new dog is a perfect match for you and your family and lifestyle, keeping you informed throughout the process of documentation and travel, and offering support and guidance during the settling in period. We also have a dedicated Facebook page where adoptive families can share information and ask advice from other Healing Paws families.
Foster a Dog
IIf you are not quite ready for a long-term commitment, then fostering can be a very rewarding way to support us. We often require temporary foster homes for dogs in the UK. This could be for several reasons and by providing temporary care to one of our dogs you can give them a safe and loving environment while they wait to move on to their forever home. We will provide food, any medicines, routine vet care and public liability insurance for your foster dog although you will need to have the usual pet insurance to cover accident or illness. Again, our Adoption Team will work with you to make successful fostering arrangements and will support you throughout the process and the foster.
Volunteer Your Time and Skills
Our rescue and rehoming successes are made possible by the dedication and commitment of our small team of volunteers. Whether you are in Zakynthos or supporting from elsewhere there are many ways you can contribute your time and skills. From support with fundraising, sponsorship or offering to volunteer a specific skill we are always happy to hear from more willing volunteers!

The more people who know about us, the more animals in need we can help. Every share, like and conversation about our rescue work brings us a little closer to finding homes for our dogs and to realising our goal of building our shelter.
