Pixie (Faith) was kept on a chain, so short that she couldn’t lay down to sleep, let alone get inside the barrel she was chained to, for shelter. Pixie slept sitting up, in the wind and rain. Then Pixie got pregnant and her owners didn’t want her or the puppies so Sue took them in.
Pixie was very frightened as she hadn’t had any human contact before, but time with Sue brought out her sweet, happy and affectionate nature.
We recently adopted Pixie (she’s the white one) and she lives with us in Cowfold. She’s so funny, loving, cheeky and she dotes on her new furry brother Ziggy and looks after him (he’s not very brave). We all love her to absolute bits.
Here is our very own gorgeous Greekie, living with us in Hove. Fizzgig has settled in so well and adores our daughter Tilda. Fizz also adores our foster cat Ripley who is also one of Sue’s wonderful rescues. Fizzgig’s character is still coming through every day – I will never forget the joy of seeing her get the rips for the first time and charging around the park like a loonie… it brought tears to my eyes. There is nothing more rewarding and heart warming than rescuing a dog from a life of neglect and giving the love and environment they needed for them to enjoy life and be themselves… these gorgeous dogs are so humble and grateful for all that you give them. Fizzgig’s favourite treat is a crust of bread and a belly rub and she looks at us with her chocolate button eyes as if to say ‘Thank you so much for loving me’… We can’t imagine life without her now, she is adorable and we couldn’t love her more…
John and his wife Glennis heard about Sue and travelled to Zante to meet her and all her rescues. They adopted Zan who now lives with them in Chesterfield.

Mabel is now part of a loving family in Surrey and keeps Sally entertained at home, while she recovers from an operation.
Review from Sally & Alison:
We saw Mabel’s photo on the Holbrook Animal Rescue website and enquired about her. We were asked whether it would be a problem that she was presently in Greece.
After reading the information about the process we decided to go ahead. Everyone involved was great. We were worried about bringing a dog home, that we had not met, but Sue Deeth is really honest about her dogs and describes their characters really well as she wants you to get the right dog for your circumstances.
Sue Metcalf who is at the UK end of things was really helpful and answered my questions about the process thoroughly. We had a visit from the home checker which I found reassuring. I can honestly say that we have not regretted the decision to go ahead. Mabel has been with us since July 2015 and I would not part with her for anything.
